“Understanding the body I live in”

“I have a rather difficult relationship with my body. I prefer to wear oversized clothes and to not show much skin. I don't like to be objectified on the streets and wearing tight clothes usually brings me unwanted attention. I don't think that a photoshoot can change global problems in our society. But it can change a personal perception of your physique.

Currently I'm on a personal journey of self-discovery, and I think that this particular shoot adds up to the understanding of the body that I live in. From the point where I'm standing now, I managed to accept my vulnerability. Annelies showed this part of me in a beautiful way. I seem very soft and vulnerable in photos. In my normal life, I prefer to seem strong and bold. I find it very interesting to see myself through someone else's eyes.

I never had the idea to pose naked, but when I had an opportunity to shoot with Annelies it seemed like an interesting experience to me. In the beginning I was very nervous because of the presence of a camera in my bedroom. But after a small "warm-up" it got easier. It was a very easy and natural process, I had fun!

Seeing myself pictured naked made me feel weird and nervous, because I'm not used to this version of myself. I wanted to feel more confident, and it totally worked out. Before the shoot, I could not imagine showing my nude photos to the internet, but now I see my pictures as something artistic and don't mind sharing them with others”
